Really. Peace. He was so nice about it I couldn't be destroyed. He said my writing was terrific and charming, but outside the realms of what he's looking for. I kind of knew that, but I liked his profile and took a chance. He gave me some good ideas, and honestly, the entire experience has been so good for me. I wish all rejection was like this, not just the literary kind. But humans aren't generally like that, are we?
So, next. I may pursue another agent, one more specific to this novel, but a part of me is tired. I have so many more ideas, projects and stories to write, and writing makes me happy. So how about this? I'll casually look around for another agent, but in the meanwhile, work diligently on my next book. Good idea, Leighton. You are so smart. An imaginary genius.
